Mission Statement-
The mission of the Family Access Center is to support individuals in overcoming life's challenges, through empowerment, as we embrace preserving, restoring, and strengthening through quality services.
History-
Since 2005, Family Access Center has been dedicated to serving, supporting, and strengthening families. The organization was founded by Darin Dunn and Dr. Pamela Ingram and was initially known as Transitional Services of Iowa (TSI), a behavioral health organization. Ron Berube later joined the ownership team, further advancing the mission and expanding family-centered services across offices in Sioux City, IA; Spencer, IA; Council Bluffs, IA; and Omaha, NE.
Today, Family Access Center employs more than 100 highly trained and experienced professionals, including licensed therapists, certified substance use counselors, and a diverse team of mental health care providers. The organization offers compassionate, comprehensive assessment and treatment services, including mental health care, substance use treatment, behavioral health services, child welfare services, domestic violence intervention and treatment, peer coaching and support, the Prime for Life drunk driving course, supervised visitation, and sober living services. Throughout its growth, Family Access Center has remained committed to building people-centered services and programs, ensuring that individuals and families are supported with dignity and care regardless of the service or resource provided.
Family Access Center is a state-licensed, Medicaid/Medicare-certified community-based organization credentialed by the Council on Accreditation. Our management is a competent, diverse, and experienced group of professionals with backgrounds in medical, mental health, and business fields.
Officers of the Corporation -
The corporation's Officers, Ron Berube, Darin Dunn, and Pamela Ingram, collectively offer over 85 years of expertise in child welfare advocacy, program design/development, and quality service provision.
Executive Leadership -
In 2022, Janelle Tomoson transitioned to the role of Executive Director and CEO following previously joining the organization as the Director of Family Centered Services in 2020. Janelle brings over 25 years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse services to individuals and families. She has 20+ years of experience in program development, implementation, management, and leadership within behavioral health service programs and non-profit organizations.
