Dedicated to service delivery in the tri-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Family Access Center provides child welfare services, mental health assessments, substance use evaluations and treatment, mental health psychotherapy, behavioral health intervention services (BHIS), and Iowa Domestic Abuse Program (IDAP) and domestic violence services. Mission Statement-
The mission of the Family Access Center is to support individuals in overcoming life's challenges through empowerment, as we embrace preserving, restoring, and strengthening through quality services.
History-
Since 2005 Family Access Center began working to meet community needs. Family Access Center began providing substance use and abuse services to address addiction and support recovery. Family Access Center began providing mental health psychotherapy services to further support individual, couple, and family well-being. In 2008, Family Access Center entered contracts with the Iowa Department of Human Services to provide child welfare services to families and their children. Services for Iowa Domestic Abuse Program were offered to help perpetrators of domestic violence as well as the Prime for Life drunk driving curriculum.
In 2019, a sober living home (Hope Street), was added to the portfolio to serve homeless individuals suffering from addiction. In 2020, substance use treatment and cognitive-behavioral treatment were added to the continuum to treat federal offenders.
To grow and further meet community needs, integration into one comprehensive organization, Family Access Center will occur throughout 2021. Dedicated to service delivery in the tri-state region of Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, Family Access Center is committed to quality, evidence-based, culturally affirming services.
Officers of the Corporation -
The Officers of the Corporation, Ron Berube, Darin Dunn, and Pamela Ingram collectively offer over 85 years of expertise in child welfare advocacy, program design/development, and quality service provision.
Executive Leadership -
In 2022, Janelle Tomoson transitioned to the role of Executive Director and CEO following previously joining the organization as the Director of Family Centered Services in 2020. Janelle brings over 25yrs experience in the provision of mental health and substance abuse services to individuals and families. She has 20+ years of experience in program development, implementation, management and leadership within behavioral health service programs and non-profit organizations.
