Mission Statement-
The mission of the Family Access Center is to empower individuals to overcome life's challenges. We embrace preserving, restoring, and strengthening through quality services.
History-
Since 2005, the Family Access Center has served, supported, and strengthened families.
Darin Dunn and Dr. Pamela Ingram founded the organization. Initially, the organization was named Transitional Services of Iowa (TSI), a behavioral health organization. Ron Berube joined the owners in the organization's mission and began providing forensic services with offices in Sioux City, IA; Spencer, IA; Council Bluffs, IA; and Omaha, NE. With 100+ highly trained and experienced staff, including licensed therapist, certified substance use counselors, and a diverse group of mental health care professionals, Family Access Center provides compassionate and comprehensive assessment and treatment to all clients. The organization has grown to provide mental healthcare, substance use care, behavioral healthcare, child welfare services, domestic violence intervention and treatment, peer coaching and support, drunk driving Prime for Life course, supervised visitation, and sober living services. With this growth, Family Access Center remains committed to building services and programs around people regardless of what service or resource is provided.
Family Access Center is a state-licensed, Medicaid/Medicare-certified community-based organization credentialed by the Council on Accreditation. Our management is a competent, diverse, and experienced group of professionals with backgrounds in medical, mental health, and business fields.
Officers of the Corporation -
The corporation's Officers, Ron Berube, Darin Dunn, and Pamela Ingram, collectively offer over 85 years of expertise in child welfare advocacy, program design/development, and quality service provision.
Executive Leadership -
In 2022, Janelle Tomoson transitioned to the role of Executive Director and CEO following previously joining the organization as the Director of Family Centered Services in 2020. Janelle brings over 25 years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse services to individuals and families. She has 20+ years of experience in program development, implementation, management, and leadership within behavioral health service programs and non-profit organizations.
